Raigarh: Improving buildings, improving schools: Renovation of schools in full swing in the entire district

more than one and a half thousand schools in the district are being repaired at a cost of Rs. 130 crores.

The work of beautifying more than 1500 schools in the district is in full swing. Renovation work in schools is being completed at a fast pace. Along with the repair of classrooms and toilets in the school building, construction of additional rooms as per the need, painting of the buildings is also being done. So that when the children reach school in the new education session, they get their school in a new style. The process of repairing more than one and a half thousand schools is going on in the district. For this, an amount of about 130 crores is being spent including Chief Minister’s School Jatan Yojana and DMF-CSR.
           Collector Mr. Taran Prakash Sinha has instructed the departmental officers to work in mission mode for this. He himself is regularly reviewing the work. He took a meeting of the Education Department, RES and contractors and took complete details of the progress of the work being done in all the schools. During this, the principals were entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring the quality of work. All SDMs have also been instructed to review regularly. Collector Mr. Sinha has specially directed all the officers to take advantage of the summer vacation of the children to complete the construction works faster. The responsibility of repairing schools has been given to RES.
Rejuvenation is being done by the Chief Minister’s School Jatan Yojana
The government has kept the repair of schools on priority before the next academic session. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel himself has announced ‘Chief Minister School Jatan’ scheme in this regard. The government had conducted a survey of schools and asked for information about schools that could be repaired. According to the approval order issued by the government, Rs 97 crore 10 lakh has been sanctioned for 1536 schools from the DPI head. According to its earlier orders, an amount of Rs 10 crore 11 lakh is being given by the state government. With this amount, repair works will be done in 182 schools of the district and additional rooms will be constructed as per requirement. Along with this, Rs 4 crore 8 lakh is being given for the repair and maintenance of school buildings constructed before 1962. With this, works have been approved in 62 schools under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
Amount being spent from DMF.-CSR also
31 more Atmanand schools are starting from the next academic session and for its upgradation, Collector Mr. Sinha has approved an amount of Rs 15 crore 72 lakh from the CSR head. A total of Rs 1 crore 95 lakh has been given to 25 schools from DMF.
