Raigarh, 30 May 2021. Due to the efforts of Collector Bhim Singh, the cent per cent offtake of paddy procured in the Kharif marketing year 2019-20 in Raigad district has been completed. After getting the allotment of 14 districts in the state in February, Raigad became the first district in the state where the DO has been lifted by issuing the entire paddy till the end of March 2020.
According to the information received from DMO Markfed, in the Kharif marketing year 2019-20, 4 lakh 84 thousand 600 metric tonnes of paddy was purchased in the district. Out of which 2 lakh 92 thousand 138 metric tonnes were taken off by the millers directly from the committees during the procurement. 1 lakh 90 thousand 432 metric tonnes of paddy was collected in the collection centers of the district. Out of which paddy was also disposed of by the millers from the collection centers. After which 34 thousand 700 metric tonnes of paddy was left in the collection centers for disposal. Due to non-allotment, the entire paddy could not be lifted. The same situation was present in 14 districts of the state. As soon as the allocation was received from the administration, the Collector Mr. Bhim Singh, Food Department, Took a meeting of DMO and Millers in which they were instructed to dispose of paddy soon. Collector Mr. Singh also monitored it continuously. As a result, the entire DO has been completed by issuing the entire DO of about 34 thousand 700 metric tonnes of paddy stored in the district. Raigarh district is the only district in the state where DO has been issued for the entire paddy till the end of March 2020 and the lifting has also been completed. Along with this, now on the instructions of Mr. Bhim Singh, the millers collector of the district, they are cooperating in the lifting of paddy for the Kharif marketing year 2019-20 in the district of Baloda Bazar.
