In this case, about two months ago, the police interrogated former CM Bhupesh Baghel’s son Chaitanya Baghel for about 4 hours in Bhilai 3 police station. And his mobile was confiscated. The police suspected that Chaitanya was friends with Praveer Sharma and other accused, so he helped them to escape. However, now on the basis of the arrest of the main accused and the interrogation of the rest, it is expected that the picture will become clearer in this case.
In fact, on July 19, 2024, some youths came on two bikes and attacked Professor Vinod Sharma of Dr. Khubchand Baghel College and badly injured him. The professor was admitted in critical condition to Ramkrishna Hospital in Raipur and then to AIIMS in Delhi, where he was treated for several days. In the video footage, the police had identified one or two of the attacking bike riders. In this case, the police arrested five accused one by one and Prabir Sharma absconded. Prabir’s car was seized by the police. During Probir’s escape, some facts came to light and it also came to light that one or two of these people are friends of former CM Bhupesh’s son Chaitanya Baghel. After Probir’s escape, Chaitanya was also interrogated. The police also seized Chaitanya’s mobile phone. In a conversation with the media about this, Chaitanya had said that whatever information he has, it has been given to the police. Cantonment CSP Harish Patil said that Probir Sharma, Dheeraj Vastrakar and T Pawan from Andhra Pradesh who gave them shelter have been arrested. Apart from this, the police is searching for another accused Shivam Mishra. For these three accused, Durg SP had issued a lookout circular by announcing a reward of 10 thousand each. Earlier also, the police had arrested 5 accused who carried out this incident from Rewa and sent them to jail.
