Like every year, this year also the traditional festival Gangaur is being celebrated with great enthusiasm by Maheshwari Sabha. Chairman of the meeting, Sampat Kabra, Minister Kamal Rathi told that Gangaur festival is a traditional glorious festival of Rajasthan. This great festival, which is celebrated starting from the second day of Holika Dahan till Chaitra Sood Teej, spreads its unique shade of Rajasthani culture all over India in the form of a festival. This festival is also important from family and social point of view.
In this festival celebrated with wishes of unbroken good fortune, Mata Gavra ji (Parvati ji) and Isar ji (adorable Lord Shiva ji) are worshipped. Daily puja and songs are sung at Mata Ki Bari i.e. the place where barley is sown.

On Thursday, 11th April, Gopal Mandir will start from Sadar Bazaar at 7.00 pm. An attractive tableau of Mata Gangaur ji and Isar ji (Lord Shiva) is being constructed for the procession. In the procession, members of the society will display traditional costumes and will also sing traditional folk songs of Gangaur. He told that in this series, Gavarja ji’s Prasad (Goth): will start at 7.00 pm on Friday, 12th April, at Maheshwari Bhawan, Dunda.
