Raipur. During the discussion on grant demands in the budget session of Chhattisgarh Assembly, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kedar Kashyap took a dig at the opposition and said that if the toilet scheme is stopped, Congressmen will go with lotas. Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant retorted to this comment of the minister and said, earlier the work was done with a lota, but today the toilet has been built, but there is no water in the bucket. The government should make arrangements for water in every village before building toilets.

Actually, during the discussion on the budget grant demand, Kedar Kashyap was counting the achievements of the government as well as the shortcomings of the previous government. Kedar Kashyap said that the government has worked to speed up development with the help of knowledge, but the previous government had turned development into misery. And many schemes of the Raman government were also closed. On this, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant said that during our government we did not stop any scheme, but the current government has closed many important public welfare schemes of the past. As far as carrying a lota is concerned, earlier one lota was enough, but today the situation in Chhattisgarh is that toilets have been built, but there is no water. There is no water even in the bucket. The government should first make arrangements for water in every village.

A tree in the name of mother…the price is Rs 1900

Leader of Opposition Dr. Mahant has alleged that the mega tree plantation campaign should not turn into a corruption campaign. The government should pay attention to this. Dr. Mahant said that in Chhattisgarh, about 7 to 8 crores were spent in the name of a mother tree in one year. The surprising thing is that the price of a tree in the state is up to Rs 1900. He said that for this campaign, trees were purchased for Rs 250 to Rs 1900. And trees were also planted on the WBM road.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap denied the allegations of Dr. Mahant. The Forest Minister said that there is no such thing. The Forest Department has not bought trees anywhere for Rs 1900. The truth is that about 4 crore saplings have been planted in Chhattisgarh under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. Making the state green is our priority. The scope of forest area is also increasing in Chhattisgarh.
