Raipur . Pradeep Upadhyay, a clerk posted in the Collector’s Office Revenue Department, committed suicide by hanging himself on 28 October. Before committing suicide, the deceased wrote a suicide note, in which he accused three officials of the department, the then ADM Gajendra Thakur, Virendra Bahadur Singh and ADM Devendra Patel, of harassment. There is anger in the Brahmin community after this suicide. Today, the Sarva Brahmin Samaj reached the Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to the Governor regarding the matter. In the memorandum, senior officials have been accused of harassment, citing the suicide note found with the deceased. At the same time, politics has also heated up in this matter. Reacting to this matter, former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that different communities are being harassed in the state. He said, first Satnami, tribal, then Sahu and now Brahmin community is being harassed. Referring to Pradeep Upadhyay’s suicide note, Bhupesh Baghel said that custodial deaths are continuously happening in many districts. Calling this government useless, he said that it has no right to remain in power.

State Congress President Deepak Baij has also demanded the removal of Raipur Collector in the case. During the press conference, he said that Pradeep Upadhyay was being constantly harassed and he had also informed the Collector in this regard. But the Collector still did not take any action.
