Paush Mahina 2024: Paush, the tenth month of the Hindu calendar, will run from December 16 to January 13. There is a tradition of worshiping the Sun God in this month. It is believed that offering copper water to the Sun throughout this month is considered auspicious. Puranas say that worshiping the Sun in Paush increases life span. Apart from this, if camphor is used in the house in this month, then the health of the people living in the house remains good. What to do in Pausha month?

  • 1. In the month of Paush, one should regularly recite Geeta and meditate on Lord Krishna.
  • 2. Offer Tulsi leaves to Lord Krishna and then consume them as prasad.
  • 3. One should chant the mantra of Lord Vishnu Om Namo Bhagavat Vasudevay Namah throughout the month. If possible, take a bath in a holy river, especially on Amavasya and Purnima days.
  • 4. In the month of Paush, feed tur dal and rice khichdi mixed with ghee to the needy.
  • 5. Wear red clothes, donate in a copper vessel.
  • 6. On Paush Monday, worship Lord Shiva by offering Belpatra.
