Raipur. 15 September 2020. Architects and engineers can win up to a quarter of a million rupees by preparing an excellent drawing-design of community toilets. The best model of community toilets costing Rs. 3.5 lakh, Rs. 4.5 lakh and Rs. 5.50 lakh under the State Cleanliness Award-2020 by Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) for Rs. One lakh, Rs. 1.25 lakh and Rs. 1.50 lakh respectively. Cash prize will be given. Applications can be made for this by 20 September.
The winners will be given prizes on Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October. To participate in the competition, direct entry can be made on the website of the State Clean India Mission (Gramin) at www.sbmgcg.in. Applications can also be submitted by e-mail ID of the Mission Office at [email protected] or by post or by yourself at the State Mission Office, Neer Bhawan, Civil Lines, Raipur.
Officials of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) said that under the first phase of the mission (October-2014 to March-2020), rural areas have been declared open defecation free. The need for community toilets in public places is being felt to maintain open defecation. The goal is to construct community toilets in the state that are comfortable and convenient for people of all classes and communities. In these community toilets, there is a separate provision for differently abled, women and men, including third gender persons.
