Raipur 13 August 2023 In Raipur on Sunday, Bihankarmi women took out a rally in a fierce demonstration. Thousands of women descended on the streets of Nava Raipur to gherao the Chief Minister’s residence. Women shouted slogans demanding increase in honorarium. The state president of the organization said that, if there is no good news in our favor on August 15, then on August 16, there will be a fierce movement.
This demonstration of Bihaan workers women took place under the banner of Bihaan United Cadre Employees Welfare Association. These women work in different villages of the state related to the schemes of the Central and State Government. They say that they are not given any kind of allowance, so their honorarium should be increased.
Flood on the streets of Nava Raipur
With the intention of gheraoing the Chief Minister’s residence, when all these women came out from the picket site of Nava Raipur, the police blocked their way by barricading a short distance away. After this there was uproar for a long time, the women staged a sit-in on the road and started insisting on meeting the Chief Minister. Tehsildar level officials present on the spot failed to convince the women. After which a delegation was taken from Nava Raipur to the collector’s office. By handing over the memorandum to the SDM here, he conveyed his demand to the government. State president of the organization Chandrika Vaishnav told that now Raipur collector has given us time to meet on Monday. After this we will also meet the Chief Minister.

What do women working in the morning do?
Bihan Karmi women have to work in the villages of the state for the schemes of the Central Government and the State Government. In which work like forming groups of women, informing them about the functioning of government schemes, giving information about how to get employment related facilities, getting bank loans are included.
These women are divided into two different categories, 13,200 are given to the women who handle the entire work of the cluster and 5,000 as honorarium to the women who work in different villages. All these women are demanding to increase it to 25000 and 15000. Women claim that they are neither given any kind of allowance nor any PF, there is no special medical facility either. That’s why their honorarium should be increased.
What else are the demands?
The demand of women morning workers is that there should be an increase in the honorarium of all morning workers.
They should be kept in the category of daily wage earners.
Appointment letters should be issued to all Bihan workers at district and district level.
