Dantewada. A case of major corruption has come to light in the road construction being done under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the Maoist affected area of South Bastar. Where in lieu of road construction the officers and contractors embezzled crores of rupees while playing a big game. Actually, the road was to be constructed between Palar Permapara and Muller Access Road Package Number 154, but till now only seven and a half kilometers of work has been done with mud and soil on the 16 kilometer long road. Whereas the officer and contractor filled the details of 10 kilometer road in the measurement book and also withdrew Rs 3 crore 90 lakh from the department.
Regarding this matter, reliable sources associated with the department claim that the money for the 2.5 km road has been embezzled by the department and the contractor associated with Congress. While discussing this issue with the officials of the department, hands and feet are getting tired. The important thing is that the muddy road built under the shadow of security has been heavily covered with corruption. Crores of rupees have been embezzled by the contractor and the officer together. Under the guise of Maoism, this department has carried out many such acts. There is a long list of corruption in the streets. When discussed about this road with the then EE Santosh Nag, he said that deceased Sub Engineer Arun Marhabi had filled the measurement book and SDO Patel had done the physical verification. If the road is not within 10 km of the spot then the recovery department can do it from the contractor.
Pipe culverts were constructed instead of slab culverts.
This matter is not limited to eating distance on the road. Rather, slab culverts were to be constructed on this road. But the contractor, Congress leader and department officials together got the pipe culverts constructed. Eight culverts have been constructed on this road. In which only one culvert has been built by pouring a slab. Not only this, the surrounding soil was also prepared by digging the road illegally. The contractor also exploited the forests to build the road and cut many trees without permission.
Officials printed the tender for these roads in the office, the communication number is also fake
Let us tell you that a tender was issued for the construction work of Geedam-Bijapur road for a total of 30 kilometers. In which a tender worth Rs 8 crore 42 lakh was issued from Farasmudur and Pondum to Batumpara via Pattepara. At the same time, the contract for the road from Mokhpal to Chhote Gudra was taken for Rs 6 crore 78 lakh at a rate 10 percent more than the tender. The asphalt road, which is from Maharakarka to Chhota Hadma Munda, whose total cost is Rs 4 crore 46 lakh. The tender for these roads was prepared fraudulently by the officials in the office system. Also prepared a communication number.
A letter was also written from the office to the General Manager, Chhattisgarh Samvad, but this letter was never sent to that office. The entire tender process was completed fraudulently in the office and work orders were handed over to the desired contractors. The department also gave crores of rupees advance to the contractors for these works. When the Collector came to know about this matter, he canceled all the work. But the big question is, what action will be taken against those who were part of this entire conspiracy. Will this fraud be recovered from the contractors and what action will be taken against them? Many of the white collar politicians who indulge in corruption on these roads are contractors.
