The battery of an Ola scooter exploded during charging in Krishna Nagar of Tikrapara police station area of Raipur. In this incident in the early hours of Wednesday, 7 people were present at the house, out of which 3 people got burnt. The fire quickly engulfed the two-storey building. Due to which windows, doors and many items were burnt to ashes. The fire brigade team reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

38 year old Dr. Faizan has a two-storey house in Krishna Nagar. He lives with his family. He told that around 1.30 in the night the family members put the Ola scooter on charge and went to sleep. Three more two-wheelers were parked in the courtyard of the house. Then suddenly around 5:30 in the morning the battery of the Ola scooter exploded. Due to this the fire spread to the entire vehicle. Three two-wheelers also got burnt.
Three two-wheelers were also parked next to the Ola scooter. After the fire spread rapidly, it engulfed the other vehicles as well. The fire spread and reached the doors of the rooms on the lower and upper floors of the house. Then the people sleeping inside the room woke up. By then the fire had spread everywhere.
Difficult to get out of fire and smoke
The victim Dr. Faizan told that the fire broke out in the main gate of the house. My wife and I were sleeping on the second floor. Parents and sister were in the first floor. It was difficult to get out due to the fire below. We started suffocating due to smoke filling all around. The flames were so strong that nothing could be seen. Everyone came out through the stairs with the help of the roof and balcony of the house. Husband-wife and mother got burnt.
Faizan Khan, his wife Yasmin Khan and mother suffered injuries in their hands and legs in this incident. Other members of the house also suffered problems as they were trapped in the smoke. He was admitted to a private hospital. Everyone’s condition is out of danger. 112 constable Triloki Kosle and driver Dhaneshwar Sahu, who reached the spot, along with the fire brigade staff, admitted the family to the hospital. Problems caused by car parking in lanes.
It is being told that when the fire brigade reached the spot after the arson incident, people’s cars were parked in the street. Due to which the vehicle could not reach near the house. The fire brigade employees parked the vehicle about 200 feet away from the house. Then after laying pipes they poured water and the fire was brought under control.
