Abhanpur. Gram Panchayat Koliyari (Lakhna) Sarpanch Mamta Dewangan has been removed from her post after a no-confidence motion was passed against her. Gram Panchayat Panchas had applied for no-confidence motion against Sarpanch Dewangan before SDM Abhanpur Jagannath Verma. In the voting held today, 12 votes were cast in favor of the no-confidence motion while a total of 4 votes were cast in favor of Sarpanch Mamta Dewangan. After this, the Tehsildar removed Sarpanch Dewangan from the post with immediate effect and appointed Deputy Sarpanch Raju Yadav as the acting Sarpanch.
According to the information, the Panchs had argued in the application against Mamta Dewangan that all of them were dissatisfied with the work of Sarpanch Mamta Dewangan. The Sarpanch has not called any kind of meeting for the last 6 months. Apart from this, information about income and expenditure is also not being given to them for last two and a half years. Even when the Panchganas repeatedly ask the Secretary and Sarpanch for information about income and expenditure, they give vague answers. After the complaint of the Panchas, Abhanpur SDM took action on the application as per the Act and fixed today i.e. Monday, December 4 as the day for voting on the no-confidence motion. For this, Tehsildar Suraj Banchhor of Gobra Navapara was appointed as the presiding officer for the voting. After this, in the voting held today on the no-confidence motion, a total of 12 votes were cast in favor of the no-confidence motion while a total of 4 votes were cast in favor of Sarpanch Dewangan. After this, the presiding officer, Tehsildar Banchhor, removed Sarpanch Dewangan from the post with immediate effect and Deputy Sarpanch Raju Yadav has been appointed as the acting Sarpanch. Now by-election will be held for the vacant post of Sarpanch within the next 6 months.
