NEWS: Congress is looking aggressive before the upcoming urban body elections in Chhattisgarh. Congress has opened a front against the government by making public problems an issue in the state. After issues like Naxal problem, deforestation in Hasdeo, road widening in the capital, now Congress is protesting statewide against the increase in electricity bill and continuous power cuts. Today, in many districts of the state including the capital Raipur, senior Congress leaders and workers took to the streets and protested against the electricity problem.

In the Chhattisgarh coal transport levy scam case, ACB and EOW have once again filed three separate FIRs. In which FIR has been filed against suspended IAS Ranu Sahu, Sameer Bishnoi and suspended State Administrative Service Officer Saumya Chaurasia. Crimes have been registered against all of them under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The Patwari Union has started an indefinite strike today at the protest site in Naya Raipur Tuta over its 32-point demands. Patwaris across the state are on strike in their respective districts. The Patwari Union has rejected the Revenue Minister’s appeal.

Now the district administration is also on action mode regarding illegal encroachment in the district. The district administration has bulldozed 24 shops built by encroaching government land of a Congress councilor in village Jogi Gufa of Dhamdha block. Tehsildar, Patwari, District Panchayat, Water Resources Department officials were present in this action. The action of demolishing illegal encroachment was taken under the protection of local police station.
