Raipur. Indian National Women’s Congress has called for a massive movement across the country on July 29. A nationwide movement will be organized at Jantar Mantar in Delhi under the leadership of National President of Women’s Congress Alka Lamba. Women leaders of Chhattisgarh will also participate in this protest. Through this movement, women Congress leaders will unite against the BJP government at the Center. In which three important demands like social, economic justice for women, prevention of incidents of harassment against women, political empowerment, economic empowerment, social justice and right to security will be placed before the central government.
Members of Chhattisgarh Mahila Congress will also participate in this movement. To participate in it, State General Secretary Shilpi Tiwari left for Delhi on Sunday along with a large number of Mahila Congress leaders.
Main demands of the movement
Political Empowerment: Under the political empowerment and participation of women, the Women Reservation Act should be implemented immediately to ensure reservation and participation of our OBC sisters from the most backward classes.
Economic Empowerment: Under economic empowerment, to provide relief to half of the population of the country which is today fighting rising inflation and unemployment, as per the Mahalakshmi Scheme of the Central Government under Nari Nyay, a demand will be made to provide financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh annually or Rs 8,500 every month to one woman from every poor family directly in their bank accounts.
Social Justice: The increasing atrocities on women have been strongly condemned and it has been demanded that women should be provided social security. National Women Congress chief Alka Lamba has submitted a memorandum in this regard to the President, Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha Speaker and all state heads and has demanded that our demands be met.
