Narayanpur 27 November 2020. Comprehensive preparations for paddy procurement are being made by the district administration in the Kharif year 2020-21. Under the guidance of the State Government, the Collector Shri Abhijeet Singh reviewed the preparations made so far by taking the meeting of the revenue officers, food officers, district marketing officer and market secretary in the collectorate’s meeting and gave necessary instructions. Collector Mr. Singh said in the meeting that the work of paddy procurement is the highest priority work of the state government and during the next 2 months, this work will be completed with special attention during the procurement of paddy. Revenue officers will have a special role in executing this work. He specifically reviewed the arrangements made at paddy buying centers, availability of gunny bags etc. this year.
The collector informed that in the current kharif marketing year, paddy will be purchased through 9 societies. Paddy was procured through 8 societies last year. This year a new Paddy Procurement Center has been established at Bakulwahi and the location for this has also been selected. Infrastructure, computers are also being arranged in this center and the office will be edited in the school building. He directed the revenue officials that before starting the paddy procurement, all the officials concerned should closely review the arrangements of the paddy procurement center, if there is any shortage, then remove it in time.
Nodal officers will be appointed in paddy procurement centers: –
Collector Abhijeet Singh said that nodal officers will be appointed for continuous monitoring of paddy procurement centers. Nodal officers, committee managers, operators will be in constant contact with all employees and will also get daily progress information from them. Apart from this, problems occurring at the local level in the Paddy Procurement Center will also be resolved.
Kovid-19 to be tested in paddy procurement centers: –
Collector Mr. Singh said that Kovid-19 will be investigated for farmers coming to the paddy buying centers. For this, the staff of the Health Department will be appointed. He also said that special care should be taken to ensure that there is no overcrowding at paddy procurement centers. He called for the use of masks at paddy procurement centers, availability of soap or sanitizer for cleaning hands and to follow the Guidelines issued by the government including social and physical distancing.
Token Information: –
At the meeting, the collector informed that tokens will be issued a maximum of three times to farmers coming to the paddy buying centers to sell them. Farmers will be able to sell their paddy on the specified date according to the quantity mentioned in the token. If the farmer is not able to sell his paddy on the specified date, it will be token lapses. It was told that tokens will be issued from Sunday to Friday. Token will be issued for farmers from 9:30 am to 5 pm. Paddy procurement centers will be entered into computers purchased from 9.30 am to 9 pm. Apart from this, the token can be modified only once.
Information about the availability of gunny bags and arrangements: –
Collector Mr. Singh said that wholesale and retail traders who purchased paddy should also get stock verified. The transaction sheets of the traders who bought and transported the paddy should be ensured and their transport should be ensured only after obtaining permission. Penalty should be imposed in the absence of license and deal sheet. For this, the market secretary has been specifically directed. The meeting took information about the availability of gunny bags and the arrangements made so far. He informed that 3 types of gunny bags have been available in the district. Which includes PDS, rice millers and new jute gunny bags.
