Raipur. In the budget session of the Lok Sabha, Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha MP Santosh Pandey thanked Chhattisgarh for the 6922 crores received for development in the field of railways. MP Pandey said that in the year 2009, the state of Chhattisgarh received only 311 crores in the central budget through South East Central Railway, whereas in the year 2024, it has received 6922 crores. The Modi government at the Center has always been committed to accelerating development in the field of railways by increasing the budget 22 times.He further informed that the work of renovation and upgradation of 32 railway stations of the state is going on by including them in Amrit Station Yojana. Also, work is going on on 25 new rail projects at a cost of Rs 37018 crore. 141 overbridges and under bridges have been constructed in Chhattisgarh, out of which 14 are from Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha constituency
Demand to speed up the Dongargarh-Katghora new railway line
While raising the issue of speeding up the new railway line from Dongargarh to Katghora, MP Santosh Pandey said that it is necessary to start the construction work of this new railway line soon, which will reduce the pressure of rail traffic on Mumbai Howrah Main Line. Transporting goods trains through the new railway line will help in running the trains on time. He said, the impact of the double engine government has also been seen in the construction of the new railway line, in which the Railway Ministry has made a budget provision of 500 crores and Vishnu Dev government of Chhattisgarh has made a budget provision of 300 crores. MP Pandey has also placed the demand for stoppage of Puri-Gandhidham, Puri-Ajmer, Bhagat Ki Kothi, Dongargarh-Raipur local MEMU and other trains at Rajnandgaon and Dongargarh stations through the House.
MP Santosh Pandey thanked Prime Minister Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and said that the central government is always moving towards the all-round development of entire Chhattisgarh along with railways. The magic of the double engine government will be seen in all areas from solar energy to railways, new roads and industrial development.
