The first list of Congress candidates for the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh may come today. The Central Election Committee meeting of Congress is going on in the office of All India Congress Committee in Delhi. On which the names of the candidates are being finalized. Congress leader Pawan Kheda said that the list is expected to come today.

It is being told that 130 names can be approved for the first list. The screening committee of Congress has finalized the names of 80 candidates. The committee has sent this list to CEC. This list includes the names of 60 to 65 sitting MLAs and 15 candidates from the lost seats. Apart from this, 50 more names can be agreed upon in the CEC meeting today.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are also present in this meeting being held at AICC office in Delhi. PCC Chief Kamal Nath, Leader of Opposition Dr. Govind Singh and CEC member Omkar Singh Markam are included in this meeting from MP. These 14 names have been decided on the lost seats.

Congress had given green signal to single names on 14 seats for which names had been finalized in the last screening committee meeting. Now these names can be formally approved in CEC.

Sons of these MLAs can contest elections

Due to age, some leaders want to give up electoral politics. MLA from Bhopal North seat Arif Akil wants to field his son Atif Akil due to illness. At the same time, former Union Minister and current MLA from Jhabua Kantilal Bhuria also wants his son Vikrant to contest the assembly elections.
