There is going to be a shortage of drinking water in a large part of Raipur on Thursday. On June 13, lakhs of people will not get drinking water in the evening. Actually, repair work will be done due to leakage in the rising main pipe near Avanti Vihar drain in Raipur. Due to which there will be no water supply to people’s homes from the 9 water tanks of the city.
The officer of the corporation filter plant said that, due to the 700 mm diameter rising main pipeline going from the 50 MLD plant towards Mowa and Saddu, the repair work may take time. Therefore, a shutdown of 10 hours will be done. Due to the repair, there will be no water supply tomorrow evening. Water will be available regularly on the morning of 14 June.

Areas getting drinking water supply from overhead tanks Amlidih, Avanti Vihar, Krishak Upaj Mandi, Mowa, Daldal Seoni, Saddu, Kachana, Amasivani and Jora overhead will be affected. Lakhs of people of nearby settlements get drinking water from these tanks, which will not be available. Apart from this, water supply will continue from other water tanks in the city.
The corporation will make alternative arrangements
Raipur Corporation’s Water Works Committee Chairman Satnam Singh Panag said that we will try our best to complete the repair work soon. At the same time, we will also make alternative arrangements for drinking water from the corporation’s side. Water will also be supplied through tankers as per the need.
