Raipur. Now every student’s dream of becoming a doctor can be easily fulfilled in Chhattisgarh. The number of MBBS seats in the state has increased from 1,910 to 2,110. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has recognized two private colleges of the state, which have given 200 new MBBS seats. Admission will be done on these from this session. The college located in Nava Raipur has been recognized for 150 seats and the college located in Durg has been recognized for 50 seats.
The number of medical colleges in the state has also increased from 13 to 15. At present, there are 1460 MBBS seats in ten government medical colleges and 450 in three private ones. Now, there will be five private medical colleges in the state with the addition of the two new ones. NEET UG qualified students will benefit from the increase of 200 seats. Due to the increase in MBBS seats, the cut off can fall by five marks.
Lowest fees in the state
The cheapest MBBS education in the country is being provided in the state, which is claimed by the colleges. Here the tuition fee for one year is Rs 7.41 to 7.99 lakh. There is a rule of revising the fees in three years. However, the fee regulatory committee has not revised the fees yet. On the other hand, the fee of government medical colleges is just Rs 40 thousand and the fee of AIIMS is Rs 1,289 per year. In private medical colleges, 42.5-42.5 percent seats are of state and management quota. Whereas, 15 percent seats are reserved for NRIs. The fees of state quota and management are the same.
DME Dr. US Paikara said, eligible students will benefit from the increase in seats in two medical colleges. Cut off marks will also fall due to the increase in seats. Local students will also get an opportunity to pursue medical courses.
