Purushottam character, Gariaband. The oldest and ancient Chhind Talab of Gariaband Nagar will soon be decorated on the lines of Marine Drive of Raipur. Due to the efforts of Nagar Palika President Abdul Ghaffar Memon, an amount of 1.50 crore has been approved by the Urban Administration Minister for the renovation and beautification of Chhind Talab. Apart from this, Rs 1.49 crore has been received for the renovation and beautification work of Devanin Talab in Ward no.11, Rs 25 lakh for the construction work of Press Club and Rs 25 lakh for the construction of community building near Ravana Bhatha. Municipality President Memon told that recently administrative approval has been received from the Urban Administration Department for development works worth Rs 3 crore.

Let us tell you that the demand for renovation and beautification of Chhind Talab located in Ward No. 12 of the city has been raised for years. After becoming the Municipal President, Abdul Ghaffar Memon first talked about making efforts for the renovation and beautification of Chhind Talab. Recently, on the occasion of January 26, Urban Administration Minister Shiv Dahria had reached Gariaband. During this also, all the people’s representatives including Municipal President Memon had demanded the amount. Apart from this, the residents of the city had also put this demand before him, accepting which, Urban Administration Minister Shiv Dahria had announced to give Rs 1.50 crore immediately. According to the announcement, the said amount has been received from the Municipal Administration Department for the renovation and beautification of Chhind Talab and Dewanin Talab. Soon the work of beautification will be started in both the ponds. He said that preparations are on to make Chhind Talab on the lines of Marine Drive of Raipur, accordingly Chowpatty will also be developed around it. During this, all the public representatives including Municipality President Abdul Ghaffar Memon donated Rs 3 crore for the development of Gariaband Nagar.
