Major action of Excise Department, liquor seized worth 1.80 lakh in lockdown, two accused arrested

Raipur September 23, 2020. In view of the lockdown in Chhattisgarh, the Excise Department had banned the transport of liquor in another state. But this morning, there was a report of liquor transport from Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. According to the information, a team was formed by the Excise Department Kabirdham under the direction of Assistant District Excise Officer Nitin Kumar Khanduja. The team stopped the vehicle number CG 04 H 4977 in the tiraha of Sahaspur Lohara petrol pump by putting a block on it.

During the search, foreign liquor Goa whiskey manufactured for sale in Madhya Pradesh 21 boxes, McDowell number one box 3, Royal Stag 3 box and 1 box Royal Challenge whiskey total 28 boxes / 252 bulk wines were seized. The market price of the said 28 boxes of seized liquor is about 180000.

On the spot, driver Sanjay Verma, father Dadan Verma (26) resident Hathkhoj Bhilai 3rd district fort and another person Vijay Kumar Yadav father Ramvilas Yadav (26) resident, Devada district Rajnandgaon were arrested under Section 34 (2) and 36 of the Excise Act Action is being taken to send them to jail in Gaya and remand. The total seizure in action is about 330000 including 150000 vehicles.
