Mahasamund, 30 August 2021. With the aim of improving the nutritional level of women and children under the nutrition campaign, this year also, the month of September will be celebrated as National Nutrition Month. Its main objective is to eradicate malnutrition through mass movement and public participation. The main objective of Poshan Maah is to identify and monitor very malnourished children and secondly, plantation campaign is to promote the kitchen garden. With the aim of reducing malnutrition and anemia in Mahasamund district including entire Chhattisgarh, National Nutrition Month will be organized in the form of a mass movement from September 1 to 30 in the state.
Collector Doman Singh has asked to organize various activities during Poshan Maah this year at the district level keeping in view the Kovid. District Program Officer Mr. Sameer Pandey told that there is a program to take out nutrition chariot and cycle rally on this occasion. The final touch is yet to be given. Along with this, double gas cylinders and gas stove will be distributed for Anganwadi centers. Daily entry of activities conducted during Poshan Maah will be done on Jan Andolan Portal of Government of India.
Director Women and Child Development Smt. Divya Umesh Mishra has given necessary guidelines to all the District Program Officers to ensure growth monitoring of children by conducting intensive campaigns during the month of nutrition. Growth monitoring of children has been affected during the Corona transition period. He has directed to enlist the children, maintain records of physical measurements, ensure nutritional management and monitoring and evaluation of severely malnourished children. Along with this, the outline of the weekly programs of the month has also been given.

It is worth mentioning that since the year 2018, POSHAN Abhiyaan is being conducted across the country. In the Poshan Pakhwada organized by the Women and Child Development of the Government of India, people are made aware from village to village with active cooperation by various development organizations including state governments. In this episode, the Women and Child Development Department has prepared a calendar of daily activities for public awareness during the month of nutrition. Activities will be organized during Poshan Maah linking Teej, Ganesh Chaturthi festivals with nutrition and health activities. plantation, nutrition garden construction, There will be many programs of yoga session and various competitions like slogan writing, essay, slogan, rangoli and cuisine competition will be organized. With this campaign, many activities will be organized for the students connecting the schools. Efforts will be made to involve more and more men in the campaign for change in nutrition behaviour, for this many programs will be organized at the local level.
