Mahasamund: Differently-abled people are being benefited by social welfare department from various schemes of the district

Mahasamund 19 October 2020. According to the Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department, assistance is being provided for the social and economic rehabilitation of destitute, poor, differently-abled and senior citizens as per the provisions of the Assistance to the Depressed and Poor. According to which, according to the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act 2016, artificial limb devices are being provided for the purpose of social and economic rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and to reduce their disability and to provide mobility. He informed that beneficiaries are being benefited by conducting various schemes for destitute, poor people and disabled people living below poverty line in beneficial schemes. Among these, 27 thousand 207 beneficiaries under Social Security Pension Scheme in the district, 09 thousand 217 beneficiaries under the Auspicious Sahara Scheme,
Similarly, 60 beneficiaries were benefited under the National Family Assistance Scheme. In which a total of 12 lakh rupees has been provided at the value of 20 thousand rupees per beneficiary. Similarly, 634 beneficiaries were benefited under the PwD Scholarship Scheme 634, PwD 30, PwD 02, PwDH 22. Under the National Vyoshri Scheme, 543 elderly people have been identified and provided with accessories. Apart from this, 215 disabled persons were provided artificial limbs under the PwD Scheme. UDID Under the project, 8 thousand 728 PwDs have been provided with PwD and a total of 40 third gender persons have been issued identity cards under the scheme for third gender welfare.
