Mahasamund: Bhagirathi Patel bought a tractor after growing vegetables: Changed luck due to vegetable production

Mahasamund 23 December 2020. Bhagirathi of Basna block of Mahasamund district has made a different mark in the area by abandoning his traditional farming and growing vegetables in the field. Earlier, he used to take only one crop of paddy in his 05 acre field. Which was economically low in the changing times. But now they have started producing different types of greens as well as vegetables. Their strong will power to move forward, Hard work and dedication have improved their economic condition even earlier. He said on the telephone that in the current era of change, keep yourself updated with everything and keep taking new techniques and information about farming. This is the Guru mantra of success. Progressive farmer Mr. Bhagirathi Patel of village Umaria of Basna development block says that he has about 05 acres of irrigated arable land. Earlier they used to cultivate paddy in the traditional way. Due to which they used to sell paddy of about 02 lakh rupees with great difficulty. He was not getting good income even due to high cost and water for paddy cultivation.  

 He said that the officials of the horticulture department inspired him to do horticulture agriculture and the horticulture officials should teach modern horticulture tricks. Due to which they are now cultivating in advanced ways. Due to which they are getting income of 08 to 09 lakhs per annum. They have DMF in their farm. Under the Vikas Bari scheme, sprinklers and sheds are installed under net house grant for drip irrigation. Water saving is also being done with deep irrigation and crop yield is also good. He said that grafted tomatoes have also been planted as exhibits by the Department of Horticulture. Whose production is being one and a half times the normal crop. He said that taking a horticultural crop has greatly improved my economic condition. Purchased new tractor from horticulture crop income. I am teaching children in good school due to increasing income. He told that currently tomatoes in his farm, Other crops like barbatti, brinjal are taken. Farmers from other villages arrive to see the horticulture crops I have taken. Seeing the production of crop, they are very impressed and are inspired to do farming with new technology.
