Mahasamund 9 May 2021. As per the instructions of Collector Shri Doman Singh, the team constituted to ensure availability of all the essential materials to the general public at maximum retail price and to monitor daily market prices of essential commodities, including three grocery shops in Bagbahra development block of district and one grocery store of Saraipali At the grocery stores MRP (Maximum Retail Price) acted on the sale of grocery material at a rate higher than the maximum retail price.
District Food Officer Nitish Trivedi said that the investigation was conducted by the monitoring team constituted to sell material at a rate higher than the maximum retail price at three grocery stores Phulwari Para, Potarpara and Jhalap Road and Saraipali at the development block of Bagbahara headquarters. Which was found to be correct. The material was being sold at a higher rate by these four shopkeepers. A fine of Rs. 1000 was taken by the investigation team against them, and legal metrology department is taking action as per rules.
In the past, shopkeepers were told and instructed to check the irregularities in all the development blocks of the district through various media to maintain the availability of essential items and sell the goods at a fixed price during the lockdown period. In the event of departure, action will be taken as per rules.
