Pathariya. A huge fire broke out in the barns of five different farmers in Gangdwari of Parsada village of Mungeli district today. Paddy worth lakhs of rupees was burnt to ashes in this accident. According to the information, the farmers had stored the paddy harvested from the fields in the barns. Then due to unknown reasons, the barns caught fire, which quickly engulfed the entire area.
Let us tell you that the fire was so intense that the farmers did not get a chance to understand or save themselves. The farmers have given an application to the Pathariya police station in-charge regarding the huge loss caused by the fire and have demanded compensation along with investigation of this matter.
Paddy procurement started in the state from November 14
It is worth noting that the mega campaign of paddy procurement has started in Chhattisgarh from November 14. In just three days of procurement since November 14, the figure of paddy procurement at the support price in the state has crossed 3 lakh tons. The state government is procuring paddy at the support price from the registered farmers of the state in 2739 procurement centers. In the current marketing year, 160 lakh tons of paddy procurement is estimated.
