Raipur. Under the sweep program of Lok Sabha elections 2024, inter-departmental sweep cricket was organized at Subhash Stadium in Raipur on 20th April. The title match was played between Smart City and Police Department, in which the Police Department team won by 7 wi

Raipur Lok Sabha observer Rohan Chand Thakur conducted the toss and introduced all the players. The police department achieved a spectacular victory in the match. This tournament was organized under the guidance of Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh. After every match, voter awareness oath was administered to all the players.

 

In the final match, Smart City batted first and played a brilliant innings. The players hit a lot of fours and sixes and scored 113 runs in 10 overs. To chase this target, the police department team struggled till the last over and won by 7 wickets.

Captain of Smart City, who was the runner up team, Commissioner of Raipur Municipal Corporation, Abinash Mishra was seen performing brilliantly. While fielding, he took a brilliant catch in the very first over and sent the opener to the pavilion. Saurabh Chandrakar, who scored 38 runs, was chosen man of the match in this match. Similarly, Mohan Nishad was made the best batsman. Also, Mukesh Dhruv, who took 2 wickets, was chosen as the best bowler.

District Panchayat CEO Vishwadeep closely observed every match of the entire tournament and was seen guiding. Besides, all the senior officers of the district administration also remained active. In the final match, ADM Devendra Patel, Nidhi Sahu, Additional Collector Ujjwal Parwal, Upazila Election Officer Umashankar Bande, Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) Nandkumar Choubey and all the officers and employees of the district administration were present.

 

Raipur Lok Sabha Observer Sanjay Kumar honored the captain of the winning team of the final match, Vaibhav Mishra and all the players with medals and administered the voter oath. Mukesh Dhruv from Smart City was selected as Man of the Series for the entire tournament, who batted important 176 runs during the entire CCS and also took 7 wickets in the series.
