, Raipur. Raipur Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh gave information related to Raipur Lok Sabha elections in a press conference today. During this he said that “There are 9 assembly constituencies in Raipur Lok Sabha constituency. Which includes Balodabazar, Bhatapara, Dharsiwa, Raipur Rural, Raipur Nagar West, Raipur Nagar North, Raipur Nagar South, Arang and Abhanpur. He said that preparations for the election process for the third phase of voting to be held here have been completed. 44 people have filed nominations from Raipur Lok Sabha constituency, out of which 6 people have withdrawn their nominations, 38 candidates are in the fray for Raipur Lok Sabha constituency.
According to District Election Officer Gaurav Kumar Singh, a total of 2385 polling stations have been made in Raipur Lok Sabha constituency. The total number of voters in Raipur Lok Sabha is 23 lakh 75 thousand 379. Among these, the number of female voters is 11 lakh 88 thousand 571 and the number of male voters is 11 lakh 86 thousand 504. Whereas the third gender voters are 304. In Raipur Lok Sabha constituency, 398 voters in the age group of 85 have given consent to cast their vote at home. 210 disabled people have also agreed to vote at home.
Organization of sweep programs to increase voting percentage
Collector Dr. Gaurav said that many activities are being done to increase the voting percentage under the sweep programs. Voters are being motivated to vote through various sweep programs like sweep cricket tournament, rally, human chain etc. This time the election time has been increased from 7 am to 6 pm. This increase in timing will provide relief to voters during the summer season.
Women officers will be deployed in 42 pink polling stations
The Collector said that pink booths will also be built at about 40 to 42 places in Raipur Lok Sabha constituency. In which only all women officers will be deployed. In view of the heat, all medical insects are also being made available by the administration. There will be one booth in every assembly which will be manned by disabled personnel.
Those who run away from election duty citing health reasons will be investigated
Collector Dr. Gaurav told that this time medical examination will be conducted for those who try to run away from election duty citing health. During this time, if they are found fit in the test, they will do duty. Apart from this, if someone does this deliberately then the District Collector has said that action will be taken against him.
There will be many facilities in polling centers
According to the Collector, there are more than five polling stations at one place. Waiting rooms will be made there for voters. There will also be water arrangements for the voters. Along with this, in view of the scorching heat, whatever arrangement is possible like fan cooler will also be made. In order to ensure that more and more people vote, an appeal is being made to vote at people’s homes through schools and school children. An appeal has also been made to the polling personnel to allow senior citizens, women with children and the needy to vote by giving them first priority. Apart from this, selfie zones will be created in every centre.
Third phase voting will be held on May 7
Let us tell you, voting is to be held on seven Lok Sabha seats on May 7. Voting is to be held in these seven seats in Raipur, Durg, Korba, Bilaspur, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh. If we talk about voting in Raipur Lok Sabha constituency, about 15 thousand polling staff have been put on duty here.
