Lok Sabha Election 2024: Big action by EC amid code of conduct in Chhattisgarh, surveillance teams have seized cash and material worth Rs 25 crore so far

Raipur. Since the Model Code of Conduct came into effect for the Lok Sabha elections in the state, illegal money and items worth Rs 25 crore 8 lakh have been seized. According to the information received from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, during the monitoring by the enforcement agencies till March 28, cash amounting to Rs 5 crore 28 lakh and 17311 liters of illegal liquor has been seized, the value of the seized liquor is Rs 41 lakh.

Apart from this, during the intensive investigation operation, 784 kg of illegal drugs worth Rs 1 crore 48 lakh and 23 kg of precious jewelery worth Rs 94 lakh have also been seized. Besides, other materials worth Rs 16 lakh 96 thousand have also been seized.

Let us tell you that Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale has issued necessary guidelines to all the District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police regarding taking necessary action to maintain law and order during the Lok Sabha general elections. In compliance with these guidelines, illegal transportation and storage of money and goods is being closely monitored through various enforcement agencies in the state. Under the Model Code of Conduct applicable in the state, the process of intensive investigation by the monitoring teams is going on continuously.
