Raipur, April 15, 2020 / Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said in his message to the public today that the lockdown implemented for prevention and prevention of corona virus infection will continue in Chhattisgarh, on April 21 to review the status of corona virus infection Subsequent decisions will be taken according to the circumstances. Districts that will control the corona virus infection will be given exemption as per the guidelines. For this it is necessary that we strictly follow the lockdown in our respective districts. We all wore masks regularly, washed hands and paid special attention to physical distancing.
The Chief Minister said that this is the first time in the life of most of us to face such a crisis. But this is also the time to test our confidence, self-control and faith. Corona virus infection is under control in Chhattisgarh with the help of people of the state. I express my gratitude to everyone who showed restraint, confidence and awareness in the first phase of the lock down. The sooner your city, your district will control the infection of the corona virus, the sooner you will be considered to be exempted from lock-down.
The Chief Minister said in his message that the state government has taken a pledge that in Chhattisgarh, we will not let anyone go hungry in this hour of crisis. It was decided to give free ration to 56 lakh ration card holders in the state. Nearly two months of ration has been provided free of cost to almost all of them. The work of making new ration cards is also going on on a war footing. The state government has also decided that such needy people who do not currently have ration cards for any reason, will also be provided one month’s ration free of cost.
Mr. Baghel said that workers or workers have come from other states in Chhattisgarh and are engaged in development, construction here. They do not have to bother to go to their home. As long as the lock down remains, Chhattisgarh should be considered your home. The state government is fully managing the food and temporary accommodation of all such workers.
The Chief Minister said that the workers and siblings of Chhattisgarh are in North India, Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh or other states, all of them are requested to stay there. We are constantly in discussion with the state governments, arrangements are being made for everyone’s living, food and accommodation. A helpline has been arranged to assist the workers and nodal officers have also been appointed, who are constantly in touch with the respective state governments to help such people. There is no need to be worried even for the families living here, they are also being taken care of.
Baghel said that apart from AIIMS Raipur and Jagdalpur for testing of corona virus infection, now a test facility has been started in Medical College Raipur. It will help to do more tests. In this time of crisis, many voluntary organizations and social organizations are helping people in a big way. The cooperation of these institutions is exemplary and inspiring. These institutions are urged to work in coordination with the local administration and follow physical distancing. While appealing to the people of the state to cooperate in the time of Corona crisis, Mr. Baghel hoped that this fight is being fought with the cooperation of all of you and with the help of everyone’s restraint, discipline and self-confidence we will defeat the corona virus epidemic.
