The hearing on the criminal miscellaneous petition filed by Anil Tuteja, Anwar Dhebar etc. to quash the FIR lodged by ED and ACB in the famous liquor scam case of Chhattisgarh continued till Wednesday evening. After a long debate in the case, the division bench of the Chief Justice has reserved the decision.
Let us tell you that ACB and ED have filed FIR against Anil Tuteja, Yash Tuteja, Anwar Dhebar, Vidhu Gupta, Niranjan Das and AP Tripathi regarding the liquor scam. All the accused are already in Raipur Central Jail. The accused have filed a petition in the High Court demanding cancellation of the new FIR filed against them. The debate in the case started in the morning in the DB of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Ravindra Agarwal on Wednesday.
During the hearing, the lawyers of the petitioners said that once the Supreme Court had quashed the FIR, it is not legal to register the FIR again on the old facts and grounds. This action could have been taken only after a fresh investigation in the case. After hearing the arguments and debates of all the parties in the case, the DB of the High Court has reserved its decision.
