Korba 06 June 2021. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel formally launched the Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme on the second day of World Environment Day today. Launching this scheme through video conferencing from his residence office in Raipur, Mr. Baghel said that the scheme will definitely change the picture of villages and forests. Farmers will get a new source of income. Their financial condition will be strong. There will be greenery again in our villages. The Chief Minister also appealed to all the farmers and citizens to take maximum benefit of this scheme. During this, he also performed Bhoomi Pujan for the establishment of Biodiversity Park in village Funda of Durg district and Bastar, Karpavand, Bilaspur, Balrampur, Kanker, Mahasamund, He also interacted with the farmers ready for intensive plantation in Kawardha and Durg forest divisions and members of Joint Forest Management Committees. Addressing the program, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that with a comprehensive approach and comprehensive preparations, the Chief Minister’s Tree Plantation Promotion Scheme is being started in Chhattisgarh from today. This year’s campaign will be different from previous years’ campaigns. Due to greater public participation, the guarantee of success will also be higher. He said that preparations have been made by the Forest Department to plant more than 99 lakh saplings this year. Along with this, two crore 27 lakh saplings will also be distributed. Videography will be done for accurate assessment of plantation being done by the department. The Chief Minister said that the Plantation Promotion Scheme has also been linked with the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. Farmers who have taken paddy crop in Kharif year 2020, if they do plantation in their fields instead of paddy crop, So they will be given incentive at the rate of Rs 10,000 per acre per year for the next 3 years. Farmers will not need to take permission from any department in future for felling the trees planted in their fields. Similarly, if commercial plantation is done with the amount available with the gram panchayats, then in case of successful plantation after one year, incentive amount will be given to the concerned gram panchayats at the rate of 10 thousand rupees per acre. This will increase the income of Panchayats. Similarly, if tree plantation is done on the revenue land on commercial basis from the amount available with Joint Forest Management Committees, then like Panchayat, incentive amount will be given to the concerned committee at the rate of 10 thousand rupees per acre after one year. The right to cut and sell the trees will be with the concerned committee. So, like Panchayat, the concerned committee will be given incentive amount after one year at the rate of Rs 10,000 per acre. He said that after the formation of the new government in Chhattisgarh, more emphasis has been laid on the protection of plants in every year’s tree plantation campaign. In Korba district this year more than three lakh 37 thousand saplings will be planted in the area of more than one thousand three hundred acres – Under the Chief Minister’s Plantation Promotion Scheme in Korba district, this year three lakh 37 thousand 867 saplings will be planted in the area of more than one thousand 334 acres.
