Korba 26 December 2021. Under the guidance of Collector Mrs. Ranu Sahu, Divisional level sports, cultural and intellectual competition was organized by Tribal Development Department Korba at Chhurikala Eklavya Model Residential School in Katghora block of the district. In this competition, 557 ST category children from Eklavya Model Residential Schools of all the districts of Bilaspur division, Korba, Mungeli, Raigarh, Janjgir-Champa and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi participated. 280 boys and 277 girls participated in the competition. In this division level competition, children who excelled in sports, cultural and intellectual competition at district level participated. In this competition, participants took part in various genres of dance, anthem, speech painting and sports. The participants of the division participated in the sports competition under Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Handball, Football, Hockey, He displayed his skills in competitions like javelin throw etc. In this divisional level sports and cultural and intellectual competition, Korba won a total of 54 medals including 23 gold medals. Similarly, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi got 19, Janjgir-Champa and Raigad 14-14 and Mungeli 08 gold medals. Received. Rameshth Kanwar from boys category and Ekta from girls category got gold medal in 800 meter running competition Under-14. Gourela-Pendra-Marwahi secured first position in the Kabaddi competition of girls’ category. Janjgir-Champa and Raigad got 14-14 and Mungeli 08 gold medals. In girls category, Akanksha Rathia got gold medal in one thousand 500 meters race and Dheeraj Kumar got gold medal in 100 meters race. Similarly, Korba’s team got the gold medal while performing excellently in the group music genre. Rameshth Kanwar from boys category and Ekta from girls category got gold medal in 800 meter running competition Under-14. Gourela-Pendra-Marwahi secured first position in the Kabaddi competition of girls’ category.
It is worth mentioning that 195 participants who secured first place in various disciplines will represent Bilaspur division in the state level competition in Raipur. The competition was concluded in the presence of Revenue Minister Shri Jai Singh Agrawal, Mayor Rajkishore Prasad and other public representatives, officers and employees.
