Kondagaon, 12 January 2021, The Fortified Rice Scheme was launched as pilot project in Kondagaon district by Hon’ble Chief Minister from the district on 01 November 2020. Through the scheme, 1.34 lakh registered cardholders of the district are to be benefited. Presently, fortified rice is being stored and distributed in a total of 80 gram panchayats including urban bodies and remote village panchayats in the district. Plastic-rich rice is being distributed in some gram panchayats, as rumor has spread. The Food Department has issued a release advising the beneficiaries to ignore any such rumor. The rice millers of the district producing the said rice are licensed under the ‘Food Safety and Standard Authority of India’. In this regard, Food Officer Bhupendra Mishra said that the registered cardholder of the district should not ignore the rumors because the use of fortified rice is completely safe and beneficial. Do use it This rice is full of vitamins, minerals, it can be overcome with the problem of malnutrition.
