Raipur. Politics has intensified in the case of murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in Bijapur. On one hand, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma has said that the investigation of the case will be completed in four weeks and a speed trial will be conducted by presenting the challan. On the other hand, former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has demanded strict action against the officers involved in corruption. Amidst all this, Chief Minister Sai’s media advisor Pankaj Jha has slammed the Congress for not expelling Suresh Chandrakar, accused in the case, from the party till nowDeputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma shared important information regarding the ongoing investigation and action in the murder case of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in a press conference held at his residential office today. He said that this incident is a serious blow not only for the state but also for the independent form of journalism. The state government is taking this case on top priority and ensuring investigation.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that so far three accused in this case—Ritesh Chandrakar, Dinesh Chandrakar and Mahendra Ramteke—have been arrested. To expedite the investigation of the case, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under the leadership of ASP IAS Mayank Gurjar. A strong case is being prepared against the accused on the basis of forensic and technical evidence. The Deputy Chief Minister said that a speed trial will be conducted by presenting the challan in 4 weeks.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw has talked about getting all the works of criminal contractor Suresh Chandrakar investigated. Giving information about the incident in detail, he said that the main accused in the case, Congress contractor Suresh Chandrakar, is currently working as the state secretary of Chhattisgarh Congress Scheduled Caste Front, a massive campaign is being run by the police to arrest him. His properties and financial transactions are being thoroughly investigated. So far, three bank accounts of the accused Congress leader have been put on hold, and illegal construction has been demolished.
Vijay Sharma assured that the case will be investigated with complete transparency and impartiality. He said that the culprits will not be spared under any circumstances and they will be given strict punishment under the law. Along with this, he exposed the unethical activities and criminal acts of Congress leaders and said that the Congress party is now playing with the trust of the public. He mentioned many serious incidents in which cases of Congress leaders being directly involved in crimes have come to light.

Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who reached Kondagaon today, in a press conference said that strict action should be taken against the officials involved in corruption in the case of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar’s murder and someone from the journalist’s family should be taken into government service. Not only this, he said that Kawasi had raised the investigation on Lakhma in the Legislative Assembly. Due to the issue of corruption exposed by journalist Mukesh, ED action is now being taken against him too.

But instead of being ashamed of this big crime committed by the Congress party leader, the Congress has accused him of tarnishing the journalist’s sacrifice by fabricating a conspiracy.Pankaj Jha said that during the Congress rule, criminal Congress leader Suresh Chandrakar became the president of the contractor association in 2021. He was then welcomed by the contractors of the district, which obviously included local people from every party. After all, private organizations are not formed on party basis?
