Jashpurnagar: District Minority Welfare Committee meeting completed: Minorities get benefit of government schemes – Collector

Jashpurnagar 06 April 2021. For the social, economic and educational development of minorities, a virtual meeting was organized today through mobile application under the chairmanship of Collector Shri Mahadev Kavre. On this occasion, Superintendent of Police Jashpur Mr. Balaji Rao, Chief Executive Officer Mr. K.S. Mandavi, Additional Collector Mr. I.L. Thakur, Deputy Collector RN Pandey, Assistant Commissioner Tribal Development Department BK Rajput, All SDM, Chief Municipal Officer, District Officers of other departments and members of Minority Welfare Committee were present.
Discussing the agenda in the meeting, the Collector talked about ensuring benefits to the beneficiaries of the minority class through various schemes run by the Central and State Governments. He said that social welfare, women and child development, labor department, education department, urban administration, skill development and other departments should do special work to get the benefit of their departmental schemes to the minority class.
In the meeting, Superintendent of Police Shri Balaji Rao informed that the police administration is constantly working for the prevention of communal incidents in the district, the need for prosecution, their rehabilitation and for this, all officers and employees have been given responsibility and given necessary instructions. Have gone CEO, District Panchayat Mr. Mandavi said that in the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana, people of minority communities are being given proper participation. A total of 192 people, including 135 beneficiaries in the year 2019-20 and 37 beneficiaries in 2020-21, have been benefitted from the housing scheme in the district. Also, under the Pradhan Mantri Shehri Awas Yojana in the municipality Jashpur, 25 Muslims and 34 Christian beneficiaries have been given the benefit of the housing scheme.
The Collector has instructed the students of minority communities to seriously promote education, provide them scholarships, improve the quality of madrasa education and complete other tasks seriously. He talked about complete arrangements of teachers in madrasas, availability of other resources, as well as to fulfill the primary requirements including text books, uniforms, mid-day meals to the studying students. Giving information about the modernization of madrasa education, DMC Mr. Packra informed that furniture, table chair, computer and other educational materials are being made available in all the madrasas operating in the district.
Giving information about the minority scholarship by the department, Assistant Commissioner Tribal Development said that under this, scholarship is provided for students belonging to minority communities in government and identified non-government institutions as well as pre-matric and post-matric scholarship. He informed that in the academic session 2020-21, 12 applications for scholarship of meritorious students of minority communities have been received. In which 5 new and 7 applications have been received for renewal.
Information was taken in the meeting about the status of settlements of minority communities and the arrangements there. CMO Jashpur informed that drainage, road system, repair, cleanliness is being done regularly in the settlements of minority communities and door-to-door garbage collection is being done under Swachh Bharat Mission. He said that 100% participation of minority community in cultural programs is being ensured. Taking information regarding the employment of minorities and providing wages, PMEGP operated by the District Industries and Trade Center. And apart from benefiting from the schemes, he said that the eligible beneficiaries will be provided individual loans through banks. For this, while giving wide publicity of the schemes, instructions were given to encourage more and more people to benefit.
