Pears are demanded in big cities along with other states                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            The farmers of the remote area of ​​Jashpur district do good cultivation of tea, cashew, chilli, tomato, potato and pear along with greens and vegetables in their fields. Pear is being grown on a large scale in the plateau areas of the Garden Development Block area. And the farmers are also getting good profit from it. Due to which their standard of living is rising and they are becoming self-reliant. Under the guidance of Collector Ritesh Kumar Agrawal, meaningful efforts are being made to take the farmers forward in the field of agriculture. In order to strengthen the rural economy and make the farmers financially prosperous, they are being benefited by various schemes run by the Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Fisheries Department under the Chhattisgarh government. Along with this, information is being given to them about modern farming so that the farmers of the district can earn good income at low cost.
Assistant Director of Horticulture Department, Shri RS Tomar informed that the farmers of the district are being benefited from the Fruit Area Extension Scheme and Pear Area Extension Scheme of the Horticulture Department to promote the cultivation of pears. The beneficiary farmer of the garden block, Mr. Virendra Kujur has planted 250 trees in his garden by taking advantage of the pear area expansion scheme of the Horticulture Department. He is getting good income every year from pear fruit. In the year 2021-2022, about 3 lakh rupees have been received from fruit plants in a year. Farmers are living a happy life with their families today.
According to the information received from the Horticulture Department, about 750.00 hectare area in Jashpur district is producing pears and 660 MT of pears are being produced in the district, about 1700 farmers of the district are getting benefits from pear cultivation. These days, the demand for pears of the plateau areas of the garden has started increasing in other states as well as in big cities. Pears of Jashpur district, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Ranchi, other states are also being demanded in large numbers and pears are being sent. The farmers benefited from the schemes have thanked the Chhattisgarh government and the district administration.
