Women’s self-help group grows 2 quintals of onions, including various types of vegetables, at Akaltari Gothan

     Janjgir-Champa 24 December 2020.  The Narva Garwa Ghurwa Bari program has been launched by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the Suraji village scheme to strengthen the rural economy. The aim of which is to make the village a better state economy by preserving and reviving the traditional components of the rural economy. Along with improving the environment, farmers and villagers have to increase their personal income. For this purpose, the village Gothanas are being developed as live centers.
     Under the ambitious scheme of the state government, Narva, Garuva, Ghuruwa, Bari, three groups in the village panchayat Akalatri of the district panchayat Akaltara started vegetable production from December 2019 with their hard work. In Gauthan, the women of Jai Maa Sarada Group, Jai Maa Ranjita Women’s Self Help Group and Pusai Self Help Group improved the surrounding land. They used organic manure made in Gothan. Put bitter gourd, tomato, brinjal, lady’s finger, gourd, spinach bhaji, coriander, fenugreek, bhaji, red bhaji, radish, barre bhaji, onion etc. The work of planting vegetables in Gothan started from December slowly. In three to four months, vegetable-vegetable started getting rich in Gothan, the hard work of women of all the groups started giving color, and their faces blossomed. The villagers buy Bari vegetable and vegetables.

    Vegeta -Bhaji found in lockdown – Jai Maa Sarada group chairperson Mrs. Saraswati says that during the lockdown, the women of the group worked in Gothan. During this period, whatever vegetable and vegetable was released, the women of the group have used it for their family as well as the villagers have been bought and taken from them. Onions were planted in some parts of Gauthan’s garden. Which produced 2 quintals of onions. The women of the group earned income by selling onions to the villagers of the village. Apart from this, the income earned by selling tomatoes, ladyfinger and gourd helped in the difficult time of lockdown. Jai Maa Ranjitha Santoshi, Secretary of Women’s Self Help Group and Mrs. Pusai Bai, Chairperson of Pusai Self Help Group, states that it was difficult to bring goods from outside during lockdown, so the vegetable which was planted in the fence today is in this difficult time for the family. Became a life partner.
