Janata Congress Chhattisgarh MLA Pramod Sharma has resigned from the party. Sharma is currently MLA from Balodabazar. Sharma told – My thoughts were not meeting with Amit Jogi. That’s why I took this decision. But my best wishes to Amit Jogi, whatever he does, he should do well.
Sharma said – Now I am independent, when asked the reason, Sharma said – I resigned because of ideological differences, as long as Ajit Jogi was there. Everything was fine in the party. Now we have resigned because of the problems coming. He has sent his resignation to state president Amit Jogi.
announced a day before
A day before, during the discussion with the media, MLA Sharma himself had said about leaving the party. He had said – now I want to leave the Janata Congress party, I will resign from the party as soon as the assembly session is over. When asked which party will he go to, he says – let’s see. Same happened, after the end of the session, Sharma has given his resignation letter.
Which party will Pramod Sharma go to?
There are strong possibilities of Pramod Sharma joining BJP. However, according to sources, Sharma has not decided yet. Sharma is in touch with BJP, Congress and regional parties. Sharma will soon hold a meeting with his workers. Understanding the trends of the workers, he will decide which party to join.
Party bid – we have done the action we had to take
At the same time, after Pramod’s resignation, an official statement has been issued by the party. On behalf of the party, it has been said that there should be no repetition of the political developments in Maharashtra by making the JCCJ deal, so we have done whatever legal action we had to take almost a year ago. The resignation letter purportedly sent by Pramod Sharma to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly (a copy of which we have not received) once again vindicates Jogi’s action to save the party. The people of Balodabazar have given a lot of love to Jogi Congress in the past and will continue to do so in future also. We will always be indebted to him.
Now only one MLA in the party
JCCJ entered into an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party in the 2018 assembly elections. This alliance won 7 seats, out of which five were held by the Janata Congress Chhattisgarh alone. BSP had won 2 seats, Pamgarh and Jaijaipur. In many seats the party’s candidates came second. Meanwhile, Ajit Jogi passed away in May 2020. After this by-elections were held on this seat. In which KK Dhruv of Congress won.
After that, Khairagarh MLA Devvrat Singh tried to return to Congress, he had also given a statement in favor of Congress. But in November 2021, Devvrat Singh also passed away. By-elections were also held on that seat. The Congress had registered victory in this by-election as well.
After this only three MLAs were left in the party, which were Dharamjeet Singh, Pramod Sharma and Renu Jogi. On the other hand, Lormi MLA Dharamjit Singh was expelled from the party a few days back. He was accused of getting the party merged with the BJP. It was learned that while taking action, the party had expelled its Legislature Party leader Dharamjeet Singh from the party for 6 years. Meanwhile, now Pramod Sharma has also resigned. Thus, at present only one MLA Renu Jogi is left in the Janata Congress.
Sharma started speaking openly against Amit Jogi
Pramod Sharma was angry with the decision to expel Dharamjit Singh from the party. He had openly given a statement against Amit. During that time Pramod Sharma had said – If the party wants to remove me too, then remove it. I am totally with Dharamjit Singh. Amit Jogi ji, who is taking such a decision while sitting in the bathroom, is illegitimate. It is wrong.
