Raipur . The High Court’s decision has come in the murder case of NCP leader Ramavatar Jaggi of capital Raipur. The High Court has rejected the appeal of the accused in the Jaggi murder case and has sentenced 28 accused to life imprisonment.
High Court Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Arvind Verma Division Bench have upheld the life imprisonment sentence. Those sentenced to life imprisonment include two then CSPs and a then police station in-charge, besides Yahya Dhebar and shooter Chiman Singh, among others.
Satish Jaggi said – had faith in the judiciary
On June 4, 2003, the NCP leader was shot dead. 31 accused were made in this case, out of which two Baltu Pathak and Surendra Singh became government witnesses. And except one Amit Jogi, the remaining 28 people were sentenced, after which the accused filed an appeal in the High Court challenging the decision of the lower court. After the High Court rejected the appeal of the convicts, Ramvatar Jaggi’s son Satish Jaggi said that he had faith in the judiciary. All the accused were sentenced. Our family kept saying from the beginning that it was a political conspiracy.
