Jagdalpur 21 July 2020. Malnutrition and anemia is a major challenge in Bastar division. Bastar is a tribal dominated area where social living and food diversity is the main cause of illiteracy and malnutrition and anemia. With the Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign, the area has to be liberated from malnutrition and anemia and is headed towards development.
In Bastar district, the Women and Child Development Department is preparing an excellent strategy and efforts are being made to free Bastar from malnutrition and anemia. The goals are being achieved through community participation and coordination of government efforts to reduce malnutrition. According to the weight festival figures, Bastar district has 25.60 percent of malnutrition. Under the Chief Minister’s Nutrition Campaign, children of 06 to 06 years of age, “Harik Nani Bera” (happy childhood) and serious anemic women from 15 years to 49 years of age start Amcho Leki, Amcho My (Our Girl Our Mother). it was done.
The cause of malnutrition and anemia in tribal-dominated Bastar region is the lack of adequate nutritious food for pregnant, infant mothers and children, children suffering from diseases, as well as lack of nutritional awareness in the society. As per the Chief Minister’s intention in implementing “Gadhbo Nava Chhattisgarh”, reducing the level of malnutrition of children in tribal-dominated areas, reducing anemia in women aged 15 to 49 years is a priority. Keeping the goal in mind, 82 most malnourished Anganwadi centers in the district were selected in the first phase under the “Harik Nanibera (Happy Childhood)” campaign in Bastar district. In the second phase, 95 Anganwadi centers were selected. Now, in the third phase, this campaign was implemented in 1081 Anganwadi centers in the district which directly and indirectly fall under the DMFT affected area, which will benefit 41474 children, including eggs in extra nutritional food, Mungfalli Laddoo of jaggery and jaggery is being supplied and at present, 01 Laddoo of 25 grams of groundnut jaggery is available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and on Tuesday, Thursday, to provide 3 days ladoos and 3 days eggs to 72 thousand beneficiaries of 1981 Anganwadi center. And on Saturday, the self-help group constituted by Bihan has been given the responsibility to deliver 01 boiled eggs through the coordination of the Women and Child Development Department.
The construction of laddu containing Mugfalli and Good was selected on a cluster basis and after selection, training was done on behalf of the Women and Child Development Department at the district level. First of all, for group 81 centers for first phase, 5 groups for 1081, 11 groups for 1081 centers and 1981 centers for third phase 24 Bihan women self-help groups have been selected and selected for making them boys.
Through the Anganwadi centers, the demand letter for laddus is presented by the supervisor to make laddus according to the children. Subsequently, according to the guidelines, 25 grams of groundnut and goodie ladoos are given to each child, and 40 laddus in 1 kg are to be provided in the sweet box, in which mungafalli 650 grams, good 350 grams, mix of elaichi as per taste is prepared through the group. The tax is supplied to the Women and Child Development Department, Sector, Anganwadi center of the development block.
From 2000 to 2500 laddus are made by the women’s group through 10 members per day, so far 12.48 lakh laddus have been distributed to 65.37 lakhs. The cost of making laddoo per kg would have been spent with the entire expenditure of Rs 115 and at the current rate of Rs 45 per kg, there was a benefit of Rs 45.50 so far. Earlier, the rate of Rs 6 per nag ladoo and at present Rs 4 is received in the account of the group through the department.
In the Anganwadi center, there was a demand in the sweet box itself to give Mungfalli Laddus to children and women so that the laddoo was not broken so the group had to take the said box from outside, due to which there was a problem. Therefore, 5 groups have been trained at the district level to make the above sweets box and presently supply the laddus to the groups who make the sweet boxes by the groups themselves. A capital of one lakh rupees was invested through the group in making the box, out of which 13335 boxes are available. They sell at a rate of Rs. 10 per box ie Rs. 1 lakh 35 thousand, due to which the net group earns Rs. 33 thousand.
The district is the nodal agency panchayat and rural development for the successful implementation of Harik Nanibera, (happy childhood) and Amcho Leki, Amcho My (our girl, our mother) campaign. The role of sarpanch and panch is important at the gram panchayat level. All programs are supervised and guided at the gram panchayat level. Mungfalli jaggery laddu, boiled egg supply for the children of Anganadi center selected by the local NRLM (Bihan) group. Monthly meeting of local women’s groups is being held in Anganbadi centers in which discussion on cleanliness, malnutrition, nutritious food etc. is discussed and the members of Bihan group are helping to invite the parents of the children to the center and give them advice.
