In the case of embezzlement of funds of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, FIR action has been taken against 6 people in Korba district, which includes three contractors, two former employment assistants and a former housing friend. Due to this action taken on the instructions of Korba Collector Ajit Vasant, former employment assistant Prakash Chauhan and Kiran Mahant have been dismissed from service. FIR has been registered in Police Station Shyang Korba against contractor Meghnath Vishwakarma, Rajaram Chauhan of village Simkenda, Lakhanlal Baiga of village Shyang, employment assistant Prakash Chauhan of village Shyang and Kiran Mahant of village Solva, former housing friend Chandrashekhar Manjhwar of village Karumuha.
The district administration Korba had received a complaint that the houses of 72 beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin in village panchayats Shyang, Simkeda and Solva under district panchayat Korba are incomplete. The houses were not built and Rs 86 lakh were withdrawn. A district level investigation committee was constituted and an investigation was conducted in relation to the complaint. According to the investigation report, the amount for the 72 houses sanctioned in the said three villages has been withdrawn by contractors Rajaram, Meghnath Vishwakarma, Lakhanlal Baiga and the then employment assistant Prakash Chauhan, Kiran Mahant, the then housing friend Chandrashekhar Manjhwar, due to which the construction of the houses is incomplete. The then block coordinator Lambodar Kaushik, Kaleshwar Chauhan and technical assistant Narendra Sahu also got the full payment done by geo-tagging the completion of the houses without physical verification. The district administration has considered it a case of gross negligence and financial irregularity in discharging duties and has given instructions for strict action against the concerned.
CEO District Panchayat said that this matter is being taken seriously and action is being taken. According to the letter of District Panchayat CEO Devanand Shrivas, Block Coordinator Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Rural District Panchayat Korba has lodged an FIR against the above 6 people in Police Station Shyang Korba for embezzlement of government funds. Police has registered a case under Sections 420, 409, 120-B, 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
