, Lormi. Due to heavy rains in Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh, all the rivers and streams are in spate. Khudiya dam is currently full to the brim, where tourists are arriving from far and wide to see the panoramic view. But despite the posters put up by the police post Khudiya, which prohibits taking selfies and photographs near the rocks and waterfalls, tourists are risking their lives by standing on the rocks and taking selfies.

Recently, 2-3 feet of water was flowing on the Karidongri bridge, when a 10-year-old girl slipped while taking a selfie and was swept away by the strong current. Her body was recovered by the police after 18 hours. Despite this incident, tourists are seen taking risks by doing as they please, which can lead to a major accident at any time. Selfie videos taken by tourists are becoming increasingly viral on social media.

Tourists demanded expansion in facilities

Meanwhile, tourists from the area have demanded expansion of facilities to promote the Rajiv Gandhi Reservoir i.e. Khudiya Dam, built by the British in 1930, from a tourism point of view. They say that if the facilities are expanded, this place can get a new identity in the state and people will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery with their families in a safe manner.
