Initiative will be taken to connect youth with Gandhian ideology: Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel: Detailed discussions regarding the nature and operation of Gandhi Seva Gram to be built in Nava Raipur

Raipur, 19 October 2021 : Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, a detailed discussion was held today regarding the nature and operation of Gandhi Seva Gram, to be built on the lines of Wardha in Nava Raipur, at his residence office here. Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that efforts should be made to connect the youth of Chhattisgarh as well as the country with Gandhi Seva Gram to introduce the new generation to Gandhian ideology. He instructed the officers to prepare an action plan to develop Gandhi Seva Gram. Members of the Cabinet and Mr. Sachin Rao were specially present on the occasion.

While discussing about the nature and operation of Gandhi Seva Gram, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that the concept of Gram Swaraj was Gandhiji’s ideological revolution, work would have to be done on how Gram Swaraj should be linked with economic freedom at present. Along with training the youth will have to be associated with employment oriented activities. He said that it should be our endeavor to make Gandhi Seva Gram a medium of learning Gandhiji’s ideology. He said that the members of Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Mitan Club started in Chhattisgarh should be connected with Gandhi Seva Gram. Similarly, youths from across the country should be made to visit Gandhi Seva Gram. He talked about making efforts towards making Gandhi Seva Gram sustainable.

The nature of Gandhi Seva Gram was also discussed in the meeting. On this occasion, Shri Sachin Rao and cabinet colleagues also gave valuable suggestions. He said that Gandhiji’s emphasis has been on collective labour. Group activities and works should be given special priority in Sevagram. The main focus should be on group activities – participation of youth in society and country building, cleanliness, gram sabha and employment-oriented education. In the meeting, information was given about the innovative efforts made by various departments in the field of education, health, cleanliness in Chhattisgarh. These mainly include Chief Minister Health Slum Scheme, Chief Minister Haat-Bazaar Clinic Yojna, Shri Dhanwantari Generic Medical Store, Malaria Free Campaign, Dai-Didi Clinic Scheme as well as Mission Millet, Collection and Processing of Minor Forest Produce, Swami Atmanand English Medium School, Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, implementation of the Forest Rights Act,

On this occasion Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Shri Ejaz Dhebar, MLAs Shri Devendra Yadav and Kuldeep Juneja, other public representatives, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Subrata Sahu, Special Secretary Agriculture Dr. Bharathidasan, Collector Raipur Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Raipur Mr. Prabhat Malik and senior administrative officers were present.
