Raipur 16 august 2020.
On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of India’s independence, I am inviting Amar martyrs Gandsingh, Veer Narayan Singh, Mangal Pandey, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Ramprasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ulla Khan, Rani Durgavati, Rani Laxmi Bai, Veerangana Avanti Bai Lodhi and those millions of sacrifices. I salute those who raised the glory of independence.
Mahatma Gandhi, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who united the country in the long fight for independence and laid the foundation of a strong India. We will always be indebted to many great leaders like Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Veer Gundadhur, Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla, Thakur Pyarelal Singh, Dr. Khubchand Baghel, Pt. Sundarlal Sharma, Barrister Chhedilal, Yatiyatan Lal, Minimata, Dr. Radhabai, Pt. Vamanrao Lakhé,
Due to the contribution of many revolutionaries and mystics like Mahant Laxminarayan Das, Anantram Barchiha, Maulana Abdul Rauf Khan, Hanuman Singh, Rohini Bai Parganiha, Kekti Bai Baghel, Smt Bela Bai, we are all living with dignity. I salute all these ancestors on the occasion of Independence Day.
Today is also a day to remember the legacy of martyrdom, which also records the sacrifices of our forefathers like Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, who sacrificed to preserve the unity and integrity of the country so that the country, its Stood on values and principles, and rose to new heights of development by rising above the boundaries of caste, religion and sect. This year is also the centenary year of the Non-Cooperation Movement, on 1 August 1920 Mahatma Gandhi’s call proved to be decisive that we will do non-cooperation but violence should not happen under any circumstances.
Mahatma Gandhi had said- I want an India in which even the poorest of the poor will feel that it is their country, whose voice is important in the creation, in which there will be complete interaction between diverse communities … ….. I want an India that has peace with the rest of the world. For me, Hindu Swarajya means the state of justice for all people. ….. Our self-government will depend on our internal strength, on the strength to face the biggest difficulties.
Remember the first announcement of independent India. The first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru said- ‘We had pledged to meet destiny and now the time has come for us to fulfill our promise.’ ……. In this historic speech by Pandit Nehru It was said that as long as people have tears in their eyes and they are suffering, our work will not end.
Brothers and sisters, forgetting the struggles and history of our country, making valueless and opportunistic compromises is not India’s effort. The country can be seduced by the glow of discriminatory shortcut policies and schemes, but this does not make long-term solutions possible. The country is once again standing at the crossroads, where on the one hand there is a spark of discrimination and war-frenzy, on the other, there is the eternal tradition and Gandhian ideology of sacrifice, sacrifice, values, coordination and non-violence. Certainly we have chosen the Gandhian way.
Today we stand in the midst of the biggest global crisis since independence. The Corona and Kovid-19 attacks have put humanity on the test and expose those who described their developmental methods as human. At such a time, the power we got from our constitution and our identity as a socialist, secular, democratic republic gave protection and way. Under the protection of this power, as a state government, we can set our priority that this time should be to wipe the tears of the weakest sections of society and empower it. Gandhian thinking of serving humanity and Nehruvian institutions and infrastructures enabled us to compete against Corona.
None of us, that manger, could ever forget how lakhs of people of the state were coming on foot from all four sides, losing their employment, accumulated capital, house to house, from different states. Thousands of people were stranded in different states. Due to the lockdown, they were also getting very important facilities like housing, food, milk for children, medicine, in such a time, people and organizations of the state did amazing work shoulder to shoulder with the state government. Over five and a half million migrant workers returned home. To provide them a safe and healthy home, about 22 thousand quarantine centers were established in every village.
These workers were not only provided employment under the MGNREGA, but their skill mapping was arranged in the quarantine center itself so that they could be provided honorable employment in the state. During this period, the health services of the state were also chalked-up, due to which the recovery rate of infected people was better than other states and mortality was also very low. Foodgrains and other relief were provided to our nearly 3 lakh laborers stranded in 21 states and 3 union territories. At the same time, during the lockdown, the arrears of salary to about 74 thousand laborers was Rs 171 crore. Was also paid. 107 Not only were the laborers of our state brought back by means of special laborers’ special trains, but arrangements were also made to send laborers of other states to their states.
Our ‘universal PDS scheme’ also tested during the Corona epidemic
