, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi. The police of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district of Chhattisgarh has achieved a major success by cracking down on drug smuggling. In a joint operation of Cyber Cell and Gaurela Police, three interstate smugglers have been arrested with 1.05 quintals of ganja. In this operation, two vehicles Mahindra XUV 500 and New Maruti Brezza used for smuggling have also been seized. The cost of the seized ganja and vehicles is Rs 48 lakh 1630.
This action was taken when recently SP-Collector conference was held in Raipur under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, in which instructions were given to take strict action against drug smuggling and to trace the forward and backward links of smugglers. After this meeting, this strict action has been taken under the leadership of GPM Superintendent of Police Bhavna Gupta.
The police laid a siege on the Khongsara-Piparkhunti road based on secret information about smugglers passing through the forest and recovered ganja from both the vehicles. However, two smugglers took advantage of the forest and fled from the spot, whose search is on.
