Bilaspur. The Health Department in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh has taken strict action against the hospitals of the district. Apart from Ayushman Card, many hospitals in the district are extorting huge amounts of money from patients. After receiving continuous complaints, the department has served notices to RB Hospital, Nobel Hospital, New Life Heart Care Hospital and Shri Mangala Hospital of the district. At the same time, a fine of 1 lakh 82 thousand rupees has been imposed on Omkar Hospital.

Let us tell you, Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been started to provide free treatment to patients. Under this, patients can get free treatment for almost all diseases in government hospitals and registered private hospitals. And the government pays these hospitals according to the package. But many hospitals in the district are charging extra money from the patients apart from Ayushman card.

There were constant complaints from patients that apart from the Ayushman card, they will have to pay more money in the hospital, only after that treatment will be done. Due to this, patients are forced to collect money and give it to the hospital. After receiving continuous complaints, now the health department has come into action mode.

Health department’s warning to hospitals

The district team is investigating these hospitals. The complaints received in many hospitals have been found to be true. After which action has been taken against the hospitals and they have been warned to treat patients free of cost with Ayushman Card. Strict action will be taken if extra money is charged.
