Heavy rain alert in 18 states

20 people went missing after a landslide in Rudra Prayag, Uttarakhand on Friday. Out of these bodies of 3 people have been found, while 17 people are still missing. NDRF and SDRF teams are engaged in the rescue operation.

The rescue operation was hampered yesterday due to the spate of the Mandakini river. Today Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also go to the spot and take stock of the situation.

Heavy rain alert in 8 districts of Rajasthan: 3 inches of rain in Karauli-Bharatpur, roads filled with water Heavy rains have started in the eastern parts of Rajasthan. Karauli and Bharatpur received 1 to 3 inches of water. Water-logging was observed at many places in Karauli. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the districts of Bharatpur, Jaipur and Kota divisions of eastern Rajasthan during the next 24 hours. Rivers and drains are overflowing due to rain in Madhya Pradesh. The water level in Narmada has increased due to release of water from Bargi Dam in Jabalpur. The water level crossed 956 feet on Saturday morning at Sethani Ghat in Narmadapuram. The alarm level of the river is 964 feet and the danger level is 967 feet.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains may occur in Shivpuri, Datia, Bhind, Morena and Sheopur districts of Gwalior-Chambal on Saturday.
