A speeding truck and a bus full of passengers collided head-on at Abhanpur-Bharengabhata Chowk in Abhanpur area adjacent to Raipur. A woman traveling in the bus has died in the accident. While about 30 passengers have suffered serious injuries. The condition of 6 people is said to be critical. He has been admitted to Mekahara Hospital.
The accident happened around 2 pm on Wednesday afternoon. The passenger bus was coming from Abhanpur towards Patan. Meanwhile, a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction hit the bus hard from the front, due to which the front part of both the vehicles was badly damaged. The bus overturned on the roadside after colliding with a truck. Shanti Bai (65), resident of Tarri village of Nawapara, died in the accident. After the incident, local MLA Inder Kumar Sahu reached Abhanpur Hospital to meet the injured. Where he interacted with the family members of the patients. Seriously injured patients were referred to Mekahara in Raipur. Where his treatment continues.
The bus and truck were at high speed
According to the information received, both the bus and the truck were at high speed. As soon as they reached near Bharengabhata Chowk, both the vehicles went out of control. Then the truck hit the bus from the side. Due to which the bus overturned on the road. After the incident the truck driver fled from the spot.
