Health Minister Shyam Bihari inaugurated radiation protection device in Ambedkar Hospital, it will protect doctors, nursing and paramedical team from harmful radiations.

Raipur. Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal today inaugurated the Radiation Protection Device Against, installed in the state-of-the-art Cathlab of the Cardiology Department of the Advanced Cardiac Institute located at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, Raipur. This radiation protection device, provided under the CSR activity of HDFC Bank, will protect the doctors, nursing and paramedical teams working in the cathlab from harmful radiations.

On this occasion, Director Medical Education Dr. Vishnu Dutt, Dean Medical College Dr. Trupti Nagaria, Superintendent Dr. S. B. S. Netam, Head of Cardiology Department Dr. Smit Srivastava, Head of Psychiatry Department Dr. M.K. Sahu, Assistant Superintendent Dr. D.K. Tandon, Administrative Officer Ranjana Dhruv, CTVS Department Head Dr. Krishnakant Sahu and HDFC Bank officials were present.

Regarding the Radiation Protection Device, Head of the Department of Cardiology, Dr. Smit Srivastava said that this protection system provided by AROH Foundation, the CSR division of HDFC Bank, prevents the spread and scattering of radiation in the cathlab. This is one of the essential safeguards of the modern cathlab. Cardiac interventional procedures are performed daily in the Cathlab with the help of X-ray machines (X-ray guided procedures). The entire team stays here for a long time. In such a situation, the entire team comes in contact with radiation. Agnest is a comprehensive, scatter radiation protection system that completely eliminates the spread of radiation in a modern cath lab. It has been designed in such a way as per the speed and direction of the X-ray machine that it can easily move around according to the direction of the patient. It provides protection from 91% radiation.

While addressing the program, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that Advanced Cardiac Institute has established a new dimension in a very short time. I am with Dr. Smit Srivastava and his team in achieving the goal with the passion with which they have set it. I want to assure all of you that in the future, the government will provide whatever necessary infrastructure and human resources are required to make the Medical College, Raipur and the hospital as well as ACI a world class institution.

In the program organized in Telemedicine Hall on the occasion of inauguration, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal presented Dr. Vishnu Dutt, Dr. Vivek Choudhary, Subir Banerjee, Udayan Pendse, Dr. Trupti Nagaria, Dr. S. B. S. Netam, Dr. Smit Srivastava, Dr. P. Jain Shah, Dr. Jaya Lalwani, Dr. A. Neral, Dr. Vijay Kapse, Dr. M.K. Sahu, Dr. D.P. Lakra, Dr. Krishnakant Sahu and Dr. Tanya Chhauda were honored with mementos and citations. Medical Teacher Association President Dr. Arvind Neral informed the Health Minister about his various demands. On this occasion, Regional Head Iqbal Singh Guliani from HDFC Bank’s Project Parivartan, Circle Head Subir Banerjee, Cluster Head Udayan Pendse, Branch Manager Atif Siddiqui, Area Head Government Business D. Pratap Verma, CSR Head Prashant Barman, Senior from Aroh Foundation. Project officers Hemant Singh Tanwar, Deepak Saxena and Krishna Tilakwar were present.
